People embark on tours to Laos for many different reasons, some go on business tours, some go for pleasure, some go for research and some go there to learn about the people and their culture. What ever the reason for the tour to Laos is, it should be well organized if you want to have a good time and enjoy the trip.

Laos is a small country but full of hidden treasures, and unique customs. You can find a lot of minority groups living in nearly every part of the country from north to south. Most parts of the country is still undiscovered by the outside world. People planning to make a tour to Laos are falling into one of the following:

Business tour:
Most of the business activity happen in Vientiane, the capital city. Of course you can do business in other big cities like Luang Prabang and Pakse, but often people go to Vientiane to make a deal. Sight seeing tour:
If you are visiting Vientiane, the capital city of Laos for sure you don't want to miss That Luang stupa the symbol of Laos. This is a Buddhist sacred site. Ho Prakeo and Pratuxai are also very popular places for tourist and travellers to visit. Wat Sisaket and wat Xieng Khoan are also the most visited attractions by tourists.

Backpacking tour:
Many young backpackers from all around the world come to Laos to enjoy the peaceful country lifestyle, unexplored nature and beautiful scenery. Vang Vieng is a back-packers's top destination, followed by Don Deth in Si Phan Don (4000 Islands). Vang Vieng is only 70km north of Vientiane and has a bus service running back and forth every day. You can also get there by taxi or by a private car. Vang Vieng is full of guesthouses, bars and restaurants. You can be sure you will have a good time there. If you like outdoor activities like kayaking, rafting, canoeing, swimming and jumping into the river, then Vang Vieng is the place for you.
