5. Participate Las Hogueras de San Juan 2011
From 20th to 24th of June 2011, you can participate one of the best festivals in Spain - Las Hogueras de San Juan (St John's Bonfires). This is the official festival of Alicante, declared as of International Tourist Interest. You will see numerous colorful figures made of paper and wood all over the city and hundreds of thousands visitors from the whole world. People make never-ending parades and carnivals during days and night. Streets are crowded with music stages, tables and open-air restaurants. The final night, at midnight, all the figures are burnt to the ground during an amazing party.
6. Alicante fireworks competition
At the end of Las Hogueras de San Juan festival, you can have several unforgettable nights more. Just go to the Postiguet beach at midnight (or a bit earlier to find a place) and watch spectacular firework competition. You will be surprised by a variety of colours and forms.
7. Alicante Film Festival 2011
The International Alicante Film Festival is organized from 21th to 28th of May 2011. The events take place in Alicante Theatre (Teatro Principal), various Alicante cinemas and in Ciudad de la Luz, the complex of the most modern film studios in Europe.

8. Visit Medieval Market
During the last week of June, you can travel into the past and live the medieval way of life. Listen to old street music, eat tasty food, buy traditional products, visit gypsy witch with fortune telling cards and enjoy Old Town of Alicante.

9. La Corrida de toros
La Feria Taurina - During Las Hogueras de San Juan (second half of June), you can also experience something typically Spanish - the bullfighting.
10. Exposition Hall "Lonja del Pescado"
Visit the best exposition hall in Alicante and enjoy high art. Situated in the harbor, between Canalejas park and Panoramis commercial center, "Lonja del Pescado" is one of the favourite meeting points.
