Alicante Explanada promenade begins at the Canalejas square with the monument dedicated to the Spanish politician Jose Canalejas y Mendez from XIX century. It faces the entrance of Canalejas park with an ice cream shop of the same name. At the very beginning of Explanada, there are a lot of stands selling souvenirs and traditional artifacts.

Behind them, there is the well known Penelope bar, offering you cold drinks, tapas and sandwiches. There are also places where you can eat – Spanish restaurants Nou Savoy, Acapulco and Doña Maria, offering both European and Spanish food. If looking just for a drink, take one in O’Hara Irish pub.

Passing by Alicante Casino and my favourite chocolate restaurant Valor, we approach the crossing of Alicante Explanada with the Rambla Avenue. Here you can find several Spanish Alicante restaurants and pizzerias, offering a wide range of delicious menus. Enjoy pizzas and pastas in Italian restaurants Miami and Tarantino. Choose among various European and Spanish plates in Ceylan and La Goleta Alicante restaurants. If you just want to refresh yourself, take an ice cream in Explanada, Antiu Xixona, Helados Alacant, Helados Valentino and kiosko Peter ice cream and coffee bars and shops. You can also relax with a cold drink in Los Mejillones tapas bar. When in a hurry, take a snack in Burger King, McDonald’s or Subway fast food Alicante restaurants.

We finish our walk along Alicante Explanada promenade in front of the beautiful Carbonell building. Crossing the road, we can approach Alicante Melia Hotel, the central Postiguet beach and numerous bars and restaurants in Alicante Marina complex.
